Obama and the Holocaust

So Obama gave his appeasement speech to the Muslim world. And, true to form, he made sure not to forget to mention everyone and everything. Here is what he had to say about Israel:

Around the world, the Jewish people were persecuted for centuries, and anti-Semitism in Europe culminated in an unprecedented Holocaust. Tomorrow, I will visit Buchenwald, which was part of a network of camps where Jews were enslaved, tortured, shot and gassed to death by the Third Reich. Six million Jews were killed - more than the entire Jewish population of Israel today. Denying that fact is baseless, ignorant, and hateful. Threatening Israel with destruction - or repeating vile stereotypes about Jews - is deeply wrong, and only serves to evoke in the minds of Israelis this most painful of memories while preventing the peace that the people of this region deserve.

Fair enough. But immediately following that come the Palestinians:

On the other hand, it is also undeniable that the Palestinian people - Muslims and Christians - have suffered in pursuit of a homeland. For more than sixty years they have endured the pain of dislocation. Many wait in refugee camps in the West Bank, Gaza, and neighboring lands for a life of peace and security that they have never been able to lead. They endure the daily humiliations - large and small - that come with occupation. So let there be no doubt: the situation for the Palestinian people is intolerable. America will not turn our backs on the legitimate Palestinian aspiration for dignity, opportunity, and a state of their own.

I don’t know why Obama felt he had to mention the Holocaust. And, undeniably, the Palestinians do deserve a state of their own and an end to their suffering. But following up on the Holocaust with an insinuated parallel to the suffering of the Palestinians is a grave mistake. It detracts from the message that the Holocaust deniers are wrong and it makes an implicit comparison where such a comparison does not, and cannot, exist. In his unrelenting quest to please everyone Obama has (unintentionally?) made a grave faux pas.

The same goes for his later mention of Iran and the nuclear threat, where he lumped the Iranians with an amorphous mention of the NPT. But that’s another discussion.

Obama’s credit is running out fast. My guess is a real test of his global leadership is not far away. We will then know if this great orator can also execute.

I don't know if I buy into this whole "Antichrist" prophesy but it is scary to see how closely Obama is indeed following what has been prophesied.

And you don't only see this prophesy in Christian literature. You have the Muslim concept of "Al Mahdi" that closely fits with this as well.

Iranian leaders have made statements how nuking Israel will bring about the reign of Al Mahdi. So while the rest of the world might see nuking Israel as suicidal if Iranian leaders really believe in the prophesy of "Al Mahdi" and it is pretty clear they do then they would not see it as suicidal but instead as what must happen to bring about the victory that Al Mahdi's reign is prophesied to bring.

We might be on the brink of something that will make the Holocaust seem pale by comparison.

And while I don't know if I buy into the prophesy stuff, with the way actual events are unfolding it is hard to just ignore it. And then you have what the Mayans predicted and these are scary times indeed.

It is almost like you can feel it in the air isn't it.

We're leaving together
But still it's farewell
And maybe we'll come back
To earth, who can tell?
I guess there is no one to blame
We're leaving ground
Will things ever be the same again?

It's the final countdown
The final countdown

Ohh
We're heading for Venus and still we stand tall
'Cause maybe they've seen us and welcome us all, yea
With so many light years to go and things to be found
(To be found)
I'm sure that we'll all miss her so

It's the final countdown
The final countdown
The final countdown
(The final countdown)
Ohh ho ohh

The final countdown, oh ho
It's the final countdown
The final countdown
The final countdown
(The final countdown)

Ohh
It's the final countdown
We're leaving together
The final countdown
We'll all miss her so
It's the final countdown
(The final countdown)
Ohh, it's the final countdown
Yea

I can't help but think of Paul Atreides creepy little sister Alia Atreides from Dune and how she says at the end of the movie:

"And how can this be? For he is the Kwisatz Haderach!"

I believe that is what Obama wants the Muslim world to believe. Well, what I mean is that he wants the Muslim world to believe that he is "Al Mahdi".

Now, is he fulfilling prophesy? Well that is an interesting question. Obviously Obama knows of the prophecy of "Al Mahdi" and is portraying himself in a way to make him appear to be fulfilling the prophesy. So by acting in a way to fulfill prophesy he is in effect fulfilling prophesy but it isn't like people two thousand years ago had visions of Obama.
